About Cinitapride

Antiemetic & Gastroprokinetic

Uses

For the treatment of gastrointestinal disorders associated with motility disturbances such as gastro-oesophageal reflux disease, non-ulcer dyspepsia and delayed gastric emptying.

How to take it

Adults: 1 mg three times daily before meals. Children: Not recommended.

Side effects

Drowsiness, diarrhoea, extrapyramidal effects, cutaneous reactions.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

Pregnancy: Contraindicated in pregnancy. Lactation: Contraindicated or not recommended. Precautions: It enhances the action of acetylcholine. Use with caution to elderly, patients with a history of dyskinesia induced by neuroleptics. Drowsiness may occur.

Interactions with Cinitapride

Atropine, drugs that enhance the effect of medicines used for the illness of CNS and for insomnia. Digoxin.
