Mydriatic, Cycloplegic

Uses

For the inhibition of intra-operative miosis. Postoperative and post laser trabeculoplasty inflammation of the anterior segment of the eye.

How to take it

For the inhibition of intra-operative miosis: Adults & Children: Total 4 drops in the eye(s) by instilling 1 drop every 1/2 hr beginning two hr before surgery. Postoperative and post laser trabeculoplasty inflammation of the anterior segment of the eye: Adults & Children: One drop into the conjunctival sac every four hr for 1 wk following laser trabeculoplasty or two to three wk after other surgical procedures.

Side effects

Transient stinging, irritation, blurred vision, hypersensitivity reactions.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

Pregnancy: Contraindicated in pregnancy. Lactation: Caution advised or effect undetermined. Contraindications: Herpes simplex keratitis. Aspirin/anti-inflammatory induced allergy or asthma. Precautions: Acute eye infections may be masked by the use of topical NSAID.

Advice

Wash hands properly before use. Remove contact lenses before use. Wait 15 minutes before reinserting. To instill medication into eyes, tilt head back, look upward, instill drops or apply thin layer inside lower eyelid. Close eye and roll eyeball in all directions. Do not blink for 30 seconds. Apply gentle pressure to inner corner of eye for 30 seconds. Contact prescriber if there is eye pain; eye damage; eye infection; redness, burning, watering, puffiness around eyes; changes in vision; loss of vision; no improvement or worsening of condition.
