Indications
For the inhibition of intra-operative miosis. Postoperative and post laser trabeculoplasty inflammation of the anterior segment of the eye.
Dosage
For the inhibition of intra-operative miosis: Adults & Children: Total 4 drops in the eye(s) by instilling 1 drop every 1/2 hr beginning two hr before surgery. Postoperative and post laser trabeculoplasty inflammation of the anterior segment of the eye: Adults & Children: One drop into the conjunctival sac every four hr for 1 wk following laser trabeculoplasty or two to three wk after other surgical procedures.
Adverse Effects
Transient stinging, irritation, blurred vision, hypersensitivity reactions.
Risk Factor (Pregnancy/Lactation)
Pregnancy: Contraindicated in pregnancy. Lactation: Caution advised or effect undetermined. Contraindications: Herpes simplex keratitis. Aspirin/anti-inflammatory induced allergy or asthma. Precautions: Acute eye infections may be masked by the use of topical NSAID.
Interactions
Topical steroids.
Advice to Patient
Wash hands properly before use. Remove contact lenses before use. Wait 15 minutes before reinserting. To instill medication into eyes, tilt head back, look upward, instill drops or apply thin layer inside lower eyelid. Close eye and roll eyeball in all directions. Do not blink for 30 seconds. Apply gentle pressure to inner corner of eye for 30 seconds. Contact prescriber if there is eye pain; eye damage; eye infection; redness, burning, watering, puffiness around eyes; changes in vision; loss of vision; no improvement or worsening of condition. Avoid touching tip of applicator with eye. Do not share medication with anyone else. Wait 5 minutes before instilling any other medication. Wear dark glasses to prevent sensitivity from bright light.

Absorption: Minimal systemic absorption. Quickly absorbed into the aqueous humour.
