About Chloramphenicol and Neomycin, Eye

Anti-infective, Eye

Uses

Bacterial conjunctivitis.

How to take it

Drop: Adults & Children: 1-2 drops 4-6 times for 72 hr. May or more frequently if required. May increase interval after 48 hr. Administration should be continued 48 hr after symptoms have disappeared.

Side effects

Local sensitivity reactions. Aplastic anaemia (rare).

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

Pregnancy: Risk cannot be ruled out. Lactation: Contraindicated or not recommended. Precautions: Contact lenses.

Advice

Avoid prolonged use.
