What it is used for

Management of hypertension, angina pectoris. Cardiac dysrhythmias. Treatment of myocardial infarction. Early and late intervention after myocardial infarction.

Dosage

Adults: ORAL: Hypertension/Arrhythmias/Early intervention in acute MI: 50 or 100 mg once daily. Angina: Usually 100 mg once daily or 50 mg twice daily. Adults: INJECTION: Arrhythmias: IV injection: 2.5 mg at a rate of 1 mg/min, repeated at 5-min intervals to a max 10 mg. Excessive bradycardia can be countered with IV injection of atropine sulphate 0.6-2.4 mg in divided doses of 600 mcg. IV Infusion: 150 mcg/kg over 20 min, repeated every 12 hr if necessary.
