What it is used for

Short-term treatment in the following acute conditions: Painful post-traumatic inflammatory states. Post- operative inflammation and pain. Painful and/or inflammatory conditions in gynaecology. Painful syndromes of the vertebral column. Non-articular rheumatism. As adjuvant in severe painful inflammatory infections of the ear, nose and throat. (Fever alone is not an indication). Acute gout.

Dosage

Adults: Pain: 50 mg every 8 hr or 100 mg 1st dose, then 50 mg every 8 hr. Max: 150 mg/day (200 mg/day on 1st day). Osteoarthritis: 50 mg every 8 hr or every 12 hr. Max: 200 mg/day. Rheumatoid Arthritis: 50 mg every 8 hr or every 6 hr. Max: 225 mg/day. Dysmenorrhoea: 50 mg every 8 hr or 100 mg 1st dose, then 50 mg every 8 hr. Max: 150 mg/day (200 mg/day on 1st day). Migraine: 50 mg at onset, repeated after 2 hr if necessary then after 4-6 hr; max 200 mg in 24 hr. Acute gout: 75-150 mg daily in 2-3 divided doses.
