Uses

Zinc supplement for treatment and prevention of zinc deficiency states. (e.g. Excessive, prolonged diarrhoea).

How to take it

Zinc deficiency: Infants & Children: 0.5-1 mg elemental zinc/kg/day divided in 1-3 times daily. Larger doses may be required if impaired intestinal absorption or an excessive loss of zinc (e.g. Excessive, prolonged diarrhoea). Adults: 25-50 mg elemental zinc/dose three times daily.

Side effects

Abdominal pain, dyspepsia, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, gastric irritation, irritability, headache, lethargy.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

Pregnancy: Risk cannot be ruled out. Lactation: Caution advised or effect undetermined. Precautions: Renal failure.
