About Norethisterone Oenanthate

Contraceptive

Uses

Protection against conception by alteration of cervical mucus and prevention of sperm ascent into uterine cavity.

How to take it

Adults: One shot every two mth as a deep intramuscular injection.

Side effects

Spotting, breakthrough bleeding and amenorrhoea.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

Contraindications: Pregnancy, phlebitis or thromboembolic diseases, hypertension, chronic liver diseases, breast or uterus cancer, diabetes with vascular changes, Dubin-Johnson or Rotor syndromes.
