About Isoconazole, Vaginal

Gynaecological Anti-infective

Uses

Candidal or mixed vaginal infections with fungi and gram-positive bacteria.

How to take it

Cream: Adults: 1 applicatorful daily for 7 consecutive days. Pessary/Tab: Adults: 2 tab inserted together as a single dose. Children: Not recommended.

Side effects

Local mild burning or irritation. Hypersensitivity reactions.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

Pregnancy: Contraindicated in pregnancy. Lactation: Contraindicated or not recommended.

Advice

Contact prescriber immediately if there is mild irritation, burning sensation, diarrhoea (which is bloody).
