Indications

Acne vulgaris.

Dosage

Children =9 yrs and Adults: Apply a thin layer to affected areas once daily in the evening. Use of 1-4 pumps may be needed: 1 pump actuation should cover the face (forehead, cheeks, nose, and chin); 2 pump actuations should cover the upper trunk (reachable upper back, shoulders and chest); 1 additional pump actuation may be used for middle and lower back, if needed. Children <9yrs: Not recommended.

Risk Factor (Pregnancy/Lactation)

Pregnancy: Contraindicated in pregnancy. Lactation: Contraindicated or not recommended. Contraindications: Broken, eczematous or sunburnt skin. Precautions: Avoid eyes, lips and mucous membranes. Advise patients to use a moisturiser from start of treatment. Avoid excessive exposure to sunlight and UV light. Elderly (=65 years).

Other acne treatments with desquamative, irritant or drying effects.

Advice to Patient

Use moisturizer from the start of treatment. Minimize exposure to sunlight and sunlamps. Use sunscreen and protective clothing over treated areas when exposure cannot be avoided. Avoid application to cuts, abrasions, or eczematous or sunburned skin. Use of “waxing” as a depilatory method should be avoided on skin treated with Cream. If skin irritation occurs after application, may reduce the frequency of application or temporarily interrupt therapy; permanently discontinue for severe, persistent irritation. Avoid contact with the eyes, lips, paranasal creases, and mucous membranes.

Metabolism: Hepatic. Half-life elimination: Terminal: 2-9 hrs. Excretion: Faeces (primarily).
