Indications

Combats or prevents bacterial and monilial infections, reduces inflammation and relieves itching.

Dosage

Adults & Children: Apply thin film to affected area 2-3 times daily.

Risk Factor (Pregnancy/Lactation)

Contraindications: Tuberculous and viral lesions. Precautions: Perforated ear drum. Pregnancy. Avoid long-term use in infants.

Advice to Patient

Wash and dry the skin before applying. Apply a thin film to cover affected areas and rub gently. Wash hands thoroughly after applying, unless hands are the area being treated. Contact prescriber if there is no improvement after 1 week or worsening of condition. Avoid medication contact with eyes, nose and mouth. Do not cover the treated area unless recommended by prescriber. If applied in groin area, do not use tight-fitting plastic pants/diapers/garments for loss of control of bladder. Do not use for more than prescribed period of time.

Pharmacokinetics

TRIAMCINOLONE: Absorption: Absorbed from normal intact skin. Inflammation and/or other disease processes in the skin increase percutaneous absorption. Metabolism: Skin (primarily). The small amount that reaches systemic circulation is metabolized hepatically. Half-life elimination: 18-36 hrs. Excretion: Urine (40%). Faeces (60%). NEOMYCIN: Absorption: Not absorbed through intact skin. It may be absorbed from wounds, burns, or skin ulcers. Metabolism: Not metabolized. NYSTATIN: Absorption: Not absorbed through the skin or mucous membranes. Excretion: Faeces. GRAMICIDIN: Absorption: Not significantly absorbed.
