Indications
Ocular bacterial infections.
Dosage
DROP: Adults & Children: 1 or 2 drops four hrly. Severe cases, increase to 2 drops every hr reducing prior to discontinuation. OINTMENT: Adults & Children: Apply two or more times daily.
Adverse Effects
Transient irritation.
Risk Factor (Pregnancy/Lactation)
Pregnancy: No evidence of risk in humans. Lactation: Contraindicated or not recommended.
Advice to Patient
Remove contact lenses and wash hands properly before use. To instill medication into eyes, sit down then tilt head back and place medication. Roll eyeball in all directions. Close eye and apply little pressure over inside corner of the eye for 30 seconds. Blurring of vision, burning or stinging in eyes may occur but its temporary. Contact prescriber if there is no improvement in 3-4 days or condition worsens. Avoid touching tip of applicator with eye. Do not use any other eye preparation for 10 minutes.
