Indications

Vasomotor symptoms associated with menopause.

Dosage

Adults: 1 tab daily for minimum three mth. Children: Not applicable.

Adverse Effects

Changes in body weight. Dizziness, headache, migraine, visual disturbance. Seborrhoeic dermatitis, skin irritation. Vaginal bleeding. GI disturbances. Abnormal liver function. Hirsutism, pretibial oedema.

Risk Factor (Pregnancy/Lactation)

Contraindications: Hormone-dependent tumours, vaginal bleeding of unknown aetiology. Known or past history of cardiovascular or cerebrovascular disorders. Severe liver disorders. Pregnancy, lactation. Precautions: Existing or history of renal dysfunction, epilepsy, migraine, diabetes or hypercholesterolaemia, irregular menstrual bleeding may occur if therapy started within 12 months of last natural period. Induce withdrawal bleed with progestogen when transferring from another form of HRT. Discontinue therapy if signs of thromboembolic disorders, cholestatic jaundice or liver dysfunction.

Interactions

Anticoagulants, phenytoin, carbamazepine, rifampicin.
