Indications

Glaucoma, ocular hypertension.

Dosage

Adults & Children: Instill one drop in affected eye once daily.

Adverse Effects

Abnormal eyelashes, abnormal eye sensation, corneal epithelial disorder including superficial punctate keratitis, itching, irritation, foreign body sensation, blepharal pigmentation.

Risk Factor (Pregnancy/Lactation)

Pregnancy: Positive evidence of risk: Use only when no safer alternative exists for a serious problem. Lactation: Contraindicated or not recommended. Precautions: Aphakic or pseudophakic patient. Patients with or without history of bronchial asthma. Endophthalmitis, eyelid and iris pigmentation, eye hypertrichosis, corneal epithelium disorder, closed angle glaucoma. Children, elderly. Pregnancy and lactation.

Advice to Patient

Wash hands properly before use. Remove contact lenses before use. Wait 15 minutes before reinserting. To instill medication into eyes, tilt head back, look upward, instill drops into the eye. Close eye and roll eyeball in all directions. Do not blink for 30 seconds. Apply gentle pressure to inner corner of eye for 30 seconds. Contact prescriber if there is redness, burning, watering, itching in eyes; no improvement or worsening of condition. Avoid touching tip of applicator with eye. Do not share medication with anyone else. Wait 5 minutes before instilling any other medication. Be cautious while driving at night or doing activities in dim light.

Onset of action: 2-4 hrs (IOP reduction). Duration of action: =24 hrs. Absorption: Absorbed through the cornea. Metabolism: Hydrolyzed by corneal esterases. Time to peak, plasma: Approx. 10 mins.
