Indications
Iron deficiency anaemia.
Dosage
Adults: Haemodialysis patients receiving epoetin therapy: 125 mg iron (10 mL) diluted in 100 mL 0.9% NaCl; infused over 1 hour or undiluted as slow IV inj (12.5 mg/min) during dialysis. Children = 6 yrs: 1.5 mg/kg of elemental iron (0.12 mL/kg), diluted in 25 mL 0.9% NaCl, infused over 1 hr. Max: 125 mg per dose.
