Indications

Acidosis, pyelitis, to render the urine less acid and to promote mild diuresis.

Dosage

Adults: 2 tsp 4 times daily.

Adverse Effects

Mild diuresis.

Risk Factor (Pregnancy/Lactation)

Pregnancy: Risk cannot be ruled out. Lactation: Caution advised or effect undetermined. Precautions: Cardiac disease, hypertension, patients on sodium restricted diet.

Advice to Patient

Take after meals, atleast 2 hours before or after any medication. Dilute with 1-3 ounce of water, add more water afterwards. Before intake, chill the solution to improve taste. Contact prescriber if there is severe diarrhoea, severe vomiting or nausea, tremors, confusion, irritability, swelling of feet or ankles, abdominal pain, difficulty in breathing, dark stools, palpitations.
