Indications
Eye Infections including keratitis, pink eye, conjunctivitis, blepharitis, corneal ulcer, stye, uveitis, iritis. After eye surgery in order to prevent infections. It is used to reduce inflammation, pain and loss of vision.
Dosage
Adults & Children: 1 drop every 4-6 hr.
Adverse Effects
Blurry vision, pain or discomfort in the eye, stinging or burning sensations. Prolong use may cause glaucoma or cataracts.
Risk Factor (Pregnancy/Lactation)
Precautions: It can cause temporary impairment of vision. Do not drive or operate heavy machinery until fully aware how body reacts to the medication.
Advice to Patient
Wash hands properly before use. To instill medication into eyes, tilt head back, look upward, instill drops or apply thin layer of ointment inside lower eyelid. Close eye and roll eyeball in all directions. Do not blink for 30 seconds. Apply gentle pressure to inner corner of eye for 30 seconds. Contact prescriber if there is eye pain, changes in vision, no improvement or worsening of condition. Avoid touching tip of applicator with eye. Avoid prolonged use. Do not use any other eye preparation for atleast 10 minutes. Do not share medication with anyone else. Wear sunglasses when in sunlight to prevent photosensitivity.

PREDNISOLONE: Absorption: Absorbed through aqueous humor. Systemic absorption rarely occurs. Metabolism: Locally metabolized. Small amount absorbed into systemic circulation is metabolized via hepatic route. Half-life elimination: 3-4 hrs. Excretion: Urine (mainly). Faeces. OFLOXACIN: Absorption: Minimal systemic absorption with ophthalmic use. Excretion: Urine.
