Anti-infective, Eye · Aminoglycoside/Antibacterial/Antibiotic
Indications
Styes, conjunctivitis, blepharitis and keratitis.
Dosage
Adults and children: Instill 1/2 inch into the conjunctival sac every 3-4 hrs for 7-10 days for acute infection.
Advice to Patient
To instill medication into eyes, tilt head back and place medication. Apply little pressure over inside corner of the eye for 1 minute. Blurring of vision, burning or stinging in eyes may occur but its temporary. Contact prescriber if there is difficulty in breathing, increased irritability or nervousness, unusual numbness or tingling of mouth or tongue or increased drowsiness. Avoid touching tip of applicator with eye. Be cautious while driving until vision clears.

POLYMYXIN B: Absorption: Not absorbed significantly into the aqueous humor of the eye even when inflammation is present. Excretion: Urine (60%). ZINC BACITRACIN: Duration: 5-8 hrs. Absorption: Poor. NEOMYCIN: Metabolism: Not metabolized. Excretion: Urine.
