Indications

Styes, conjunctivitis, blepharitis and keratitis.

Dosage

Adults & Children: Apply two or more times daily.

Pregnancy: Risk cannot be ruled out.

Advice to Patient

To instill medication into eyes, tilt head back and place medication. Apply little pressure over inside corner of the eye for 1 minute. Blurring of vision, burning or stinging in eyes may occur but its temporary. Contact prescriber if there is difficulty in breathing, increased irritability or nervousness, unusual numbness or tingling of mouth or tongue, increased drowsiness. Avoid touching tip of applicator with eye. Be cautious while driving until vision clears.

Pharmacokinetics

POLYMYXIN B: Absorption: Not absorbed significantly into the aqueous humor of the eye even when inflammation is present. Excretion: Urine (60%). ZINC BACITRACIN: Duration: 5-8 hrs. Absorption: Poor.
