Indications

Peripheral vascular disorders with and without trophic lesions, e.g. pre-gangrene, gangrene, chronic leg ulcers; peptic ulcers; burns, traumatic wounds, soft tissue lesions, skin grafts, disturbed tissue metabolism in plastic surgery cerebro- vascular disorders including strokes, transient ischaemic attacks, sequela of head Injury.

Administration

IV: Administer undiluted. Using a fine-gauge (26 or 30 gauge) needle, insert needle tangentially into affected vein and inject soln slowly while needle is still in vein. Apply only gentle pressure during inj to prevent vein rupture. If repeated treatments are needed, separate by 1- 2 weeks. Following inj, apply compression via stocking or bandage to reduce risk of deep vein thrombosis.

Advice to Patient

Injection is administered under the supervision of expert medical practitioner. Contact prescriber if there is change in skin colour of the treated area, severe pain/burning/irritation in leg, changes in vision, severe headache, confusion, numbness, redness/swelling in one or both legs, rapid heartbeat, severe dizziness. Take medical help if there is allergic reaction (difficulty in breathing, swelling on face/lips/tongue or throat, rash, hives, sneezing, runny nose). Patient should walk for 15-20 minutes after injection. For 2-3 days after treatment, avoid sunlight, tanning beds, hot tubs or saunas. Avoid using ice or heating pad on treated leg without consulting prescriber.

Onset: Rapid. Half-life elimination: 1.5 hrs. Time to peak, plasma: IV: 1st dose: 15 mins. 2nd dose: 5 mins.
