Indications
Diagnostic, mydriatic, ophthalmic irritation.
Dosage
Glaucoma/Vasoconstriction/Pupil Dilation: Adults: 1 drop as required. Uveitis: Adults: 1 drop as required. May continue the following day. Surgery: 1 drop. Adults: 30-60 min before operation. Ophthalmic irritation: Adults: 1-2 drops of 0.12% into affected eye (s), upto four times per day.
Risk Factor (Pregnancy/Lactation)
Pregnancy: Risk cannot be ruled out. Lactation: Caution advised or effect undetermined. Contraindications: Closed-angle glaucoma, narrow iridocorneal angle prone to glaucoma precipitated by mydriatics. Hypertension, coronary disease, hyperthyroidism, diabetes.
Interactions
Beta blockers, MAOIs, TCADs.
Advice to Patient
Wash hands properly before use. Remove contact lenses before use. Wait 15 minutes before reinserting. To instill medication into eyes, tilt head back, look upward, instill drops or apply thin layer inside lower eyelid. Close eye and roll eyeball in all directions. Do not blink for 30 seconds. Apply gentle pressure to inner corner of eye for 30 seconds. Contact prescriber if there is eye pain, changes in vision, loss of vision, burning sensation in eyes, severe headache, no improvement or worsening of condition. Avoid touching tip of applicator with eye. Do not share medication with anyone else. Wait 5 minutes before instilling any other medication.

Onset: Rapid. Duration: 3-7 hrs. Absorption: Minimal (systemic). Metabolism: Hepatic and intestinal. Time to peak: 10-90 mins.
