Indications
Bacterial conjunctivitis, keratitis, and corneal ulcers caused by susceptible strains of bacteria (e.g., Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae).
Dosage
Adults and Children =1 yr: Bacterial Conjunctivitis: Days 1-2: Instill 1-2 drops into the affected eye(s) every 2-4 hrs while awake. Days 3-7: Instill 1-2 drops into the affected eye(s) 4 times daily. Bacterial Corneal Ulcers: Days 1-2: Instill 1-2 drops every 30 mins while awake. Awaken at approx 4 and 6 hrs after retiring to instill 1-2 drops. Days 3-7: Instill 1-2 drops hrly while awake. Days 7 to treatment completion: Instill 1-2 drops 4 times daily.
Adverse Effects
Mild, temporary burning or stinging upon application. Temporary blurred vision immediately after use. Eye redness, itching, or watery eyes.
Risk Factor (Pregnancy/Lactation)
Contraindications: Viral or fungal infections of the eye. Precautions: Prolonged use.
Advice to Patient
Remove soft contact lenses before instilling the drops and wait at least 10-15 mins before reinserting.

OFLOXACIN: Absorption: Absorbed into the tear film and aqueous humor. Excretion: Urine.
