Indications

Infections caused by tapeworm.

Dosage

Children: Under 1 yr, 1 tab; 2-6 yr, 2 tab; over 6 yr, 4 tab. All to be chewed as single dose.

Adverse Effects

GI upset, light headedness, pruritus.

Interactions

Alcohol.

Advice to Patient

Take after meals. For young child, crush tablets to make fine powder and mix with small amount of water to make paste. Complete full course of therapy even if you feel better. Stool examination may be needed on day 7 of treatment and again 1 and 3 months after treatment. Do not eat undercooked fish, pork, or beef. To prevent reinfection, wash hands thoroughly, wash all bedding, and keep personal and environmental hygiene.

Absorption: Not significantly absorbed from the GI tract.
