Indications

Minor skin infections.

Dosage

Adults & Children: Topical: Apply 1- 4 times/day.

Adverse Effects

Contact dermatitis, GI upset, ototoxicity, nephrotoxicity, electrolyte disturbances. Raised liver enzymes, hypersensitivity.

Risk Factor (Pregnancy/Lactation)

Pregnancy: Not rated. Lactation: Caution advised or effect undetermined. Contraindications: Intestinal obstruction, myasthenia gravis. Precautions: Sensitivity to topical Neomycin. Impaired GI motility, renal impairment, parkinsonism.

Interactions

Neuromuscular blockers, ototoxic and nephrotoxic drugs, acarbose, oral typhoid vaccine, anticoagulants, bisphosphonates, digoxin, penicillin V, methotrexate.

Advice to Patient

Apply a thin layer over affected areas. Do not use more than recommended dosage. Contact prescriber if there is itching, rash, redness or if condition does not improve.

Absorption: Not absorbed through intact skin. It may be absorbed from wounds, burns, or skin ulcers. Metabolism: Not metabolized.
