Indications

Bacterial skin infections.

Dosage

Adults & Children: Apply up to three times daily, for up to 10 days.

Adverse Effects

Local irritation.

Precautions: Avoid eyes. Renal impairment.

Advice to Patient

For external use only. Wash hands before and after application. Apply thin layer of medication on affected areas. Contact prescriber if there is constant burning, rash, stinging, swelling, itching or pain or if no improvement occurs in 3-5 days. Avoid contact with eyes.

Absorption: Small amounts are absorbed into the systemic circulation. Metabolism: Rapidly metabolized to monic acid. Half-life elimination: Mupirocin: 20-40 mins. Monic acid: 30-80 mins. Excretion: Urine.
