Indications

Treatment of inflammatory papules and pustules of rosacea.

Dosage

Adults: Apply twice daily.

Adverse Effects

Local irritation, pruritus, transient redness, metallic taste, tingling or numbness of extremities. Nausea.

Risk Factor (Pregnancy/Lactation)

Pregnancy: Contraindicated in pregnancy. Lactation: Contraindicated or not recommended. Precautions: Contact with eyes and mucous memebranes should be avoided. Avoid exposure to UV light or strong sunlight. History of blood dyscrasia. Severe hepatic damage, dyshaematopoiesis and CNS disorders.

Advice to Patient

Wash hands and affected area before and after application. Apply a thin layer of medication. Contact prescriber if there is severe skin irritation or if condition does not improve. Do not cover with occlusive dressing. Avoid contact with eyes.

Pharmacokinetics

Absorption: Under normal conditions, serum levels after topical administration are negligible. Time to peak, plasma: 6-10 hrs. Excretion: Urine, faeces (0.1%-1% of the administered dose).
