Anti-rheumatic, Systemic · Propionic acid
Indications
Chronic articular rheumatism, osteoarthrosis, lumbago, peri-arthritis of the shoulder and shoulder-arm-neck syndrome. Pain and inflammation after operation, trauma and tooth extraction.
Dosage
Adults: 60 mg three times daily. Children: Not recommended.
Adverse Effects
Gl intolerance, urticaria, rash, headache, eosinophilia.
Risk Factor (Pregnancy/Lactation)
Pregnancy: Not rated. Lactation: Contraindicated or not recommended. Contraindications: Active peptic ulcer or history of recurrent peptic ulcer. Aspirin/anti-inflammatory induced allergy. Precautions: Impaired renal, cardiac, hepatic and hematological functions, bronchial asthma.
Interactions
Anticoagulants, sulphonylureas.
Advice to Patient
Take after meals. Contact prescriber if there is abdominal discomfort, stomachache, nausea or vomiting, loss of appetite, edema, swelling, rash, hives, drowsiness, fever, difficulty in breathing and itching.
