Indications
Scabies and pediculosis.
Dosage
Scabies: Adults & Children: After thoroughly cleansing apply to whole body except head and face and wash off after 12 hr. Pediculosis: Adults & Children: After cleansing apply to affected area; avoid washing hair for 7-10 days.
Adverse Effects
Rarely, mild skin reaction.
Risk Factor (Pregnancy/Lactation)
Pregnancy: Risk cannot be ruled out. Lactation: Contraindicated or not recommended. Contraindications: Severely broken skin. Avoid eyes. Precautions: Infants, children. Penetrates skin and has potential for CNS irritation. Concurrent use with creams, ointments and oils. Lotion is flammable.
Advice to Patient
For external use only. Shake lotion bottle well before use. Avoid medication contact with face and eyes. Avoid applying immediately after hot soapy bath. To treat scabies, apply from neck to toes. After 8-12 hours, take bath to remove medication. For head lice or crab lice, massage for 4 minutes in dry hair, add water to form lather, then rinse with water thoroughly. Wash clothing and bedsheets in warm water or dry clean to kill nits. Wash all combs and brushes with lindane shampoo and rinse thoroughly. It is for one time use but may be reapplied after 1 week if there is any live lice or nits (eggs). All household members and sexual partners may need to be treated. Contact prescriber if condition remains same or if there is reinfection, skin rash or itching.

Absorption: Absorbed significantly through the skin (<13%). Metabolism: Hepatic. Half-life elimination: 18 hrs. Time to peak, plasma: 6 hrs. Excretion: Urine and faeces.
