Indications

Candidal or mixed infections with fungi and gram- positive bacteria.

Dosage

Adults: Apply twice daily. Children: Not recommended.

Adverse Effects

Transient irritation and burning.

Advice to Patient

The applicator must be inserted deep into the vagina. Do not apply during menstruation. Concurrent treatment of the partner with cream is recommended to avoid reinfection. All personal towels and clothings should be changed daily and boiled to kill germs. All hygienic measures should be taken during treatment.

Pharmacokinetics

Absorption: <1% of the applied dose reaches systemic circulation. Isoconazole penetrates rapidly into human skin and reaches maximum levels in the horny layer and in the living skin already 1 hour after application. Metabolism: Completely metabolized. Excretion: Rapid.
