Bronchodilator & Anti-asthma Preps: Inhalants · Anticholinergic, short-acting
Indications
Reversible airways obstruction.
Dosage
Adults: 0.4-2 mL by nebulizer up to four times daily. Children: Under 3 yr, not recommended; over 3 yr, 0.4-2 mL by nebulizer up to three times daily.
Adverse Effects
Dry mouth, headache, nausea, constipation, urinary retention, occasional paradoxical bronchospasm, tachycardia, arrhythmias.
Risk Factor (Pregnancy/Lactation)
Precautions: Glaucoma, prostatic hypertrophy, bladder outflow obstruction. Protect eyes from nebulised drug or powder. First nebulised dose should be inhaled under close medical supervision.
