Indacaterol and Glycopyrronium

Bronchodilator & Anti-asthma Preps: Inhalants · Antimuscarinic/Beta-2 agonist

Indications

Long-term maintenance treatment of airflow obstruction in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) including chronic bronchitis and/or emphysema.

Dosage

Adults: One cap inhaled once daily. Children: Not recommended.

Adverse Effects

Difficulty breathing or swallowing, swelling of tongue/lips/face, urticaria, skin rash, feeling tired or very thirsty, having an increased appetite without gaining weight, frequent urination, blocked nose, sneezing, cough, headache with or without fever, sore throat, dental caries, chest, stomach upset/indigestion.

Risk Factor (Pregnancy/Lactation)

Pregnancy: Positive evidence of risk: Use only when no safer alternative exists for a serious problem. Lactation: Contraindicated or not recommended. Contraindications: Asthma. Precautions: Severe hepatic impairment, severe renal impairment, ESRD. Seizure disorder/convulsive disorders, diabetes, hyperthyroidism, hypokalaemia, narrow angle glaucoma, prostatic hyperplasia/bladder neck obstruction, cardiovascular diseases. Severe hypersensitivity to milk proteins.

Interactions

Aclidinium, anticholinergic agents, long acting beta-2 agonists, nonselective beta blockers, cimetropium, eluxadoline, ipratropium (oral inhalation), levosulpiride, loxapine, oxatomide, potassium chloride, potassium citrate, tiotropium, umeclidinium; avoid all the mentioned agents.

Advice to Patient

Do not swallow capsules. Do not remove capsules from blister until immediately before use. Do not push the capsule through the foil to remove it from the blister. Take medication at the same time each day. Discontinue medication and contact prescriber if there is eye pain or discomfort, temporary blurring of vision, visual halos or coloured images in association with red eyes, difficulty breathing or swallowing, swelling of the tongue/lips/face, skin rash, itching, hives, tightness of the chest, coughing, wheezing or breathlessness immediately after using this medicine. Discard any capsules that are exposed to air and not used immediately. Use the new inhaler device included with each prescription. Do not use the Ultibro Breezhaler capsules with any other inhaler nor use the Ultibro Breezhaler inhaler to take any other capsule medicine. Do not press the side buttons while inhaling…
