Indications

Therapy & prophylaxis of hypovolaemia and shock in connection with surgery, trauma, infections, burns. Therapeutic dilution of blood.

Adverse Effects

Anaphylactoid reactions, dorsalgia, nausea, rise in heart rate and fall in systolic blood pressure influence the coagulation mechanism, bleeding time, concentration of serum amylase may be increased during infusion (interference with diagnostics of pancreatitis).

Risk Factor (Pregnancy/Lactation)

Contraindications: Severe haemorrhagic defects, severe congestive heart failure, renal failure with oliguria and anuria, allergies to starch, hyperhydration states, patients with severe coagulation disturbances, congestive heart failure or renal failure. In the event of a fibrinogen deficiency the preparation should be administered only in potentially fatal emergencies, until blood is on hand for substitution. Early pregnancy.
