Indications
Inflammatory and pruritic manifestations of corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses.
Dosage
Adults and Children =12 yrs: Apply a thin layer to the affected skin once or twice daily and rub in gently and completely. Do not use for more than 2 wks and amounts > 50 gm/wk should not be used. Children: <12 yrs: Not recommended.
Adverse Effects
Stinging, burning, itching.
Risk Factor (Pregnancy/Lactation)
Pregnancy: Risk cannot be ruled out. Lactation: Caution advised or effect undetermined. Contraindications: Rosacea. Perioral dermatitis. Precautions: Application to a large surface area or to areas under occlusion should be evaluated periodically for evidence of HPA axis suppression.
Advice to Patient
Avoid contact with eyes. Do not bandage the treated area unless advised by the prescriber.
Pharmacokinetics
Absorption: Absorbed from normal intact skin. Inflammation and/or other disease processes in the skin may increase percutaneous absorption. Bioavailability: <6%.
