Indications
Eye: Ocular bacterial infections. Ear: Bacterial infections.
Dosage
Eye Drop: Adults & Children: 1-2 drops up to six times daily. Severe infections: Initially 1-2 drops every 15-20 min, reducing frequency gradually as infection is controlled. Ear Drop: Adults & Children: 2-3 drops 3-4 times daily and at night. Eye Oint: Adults & Children: 2-3 times/day to every 3-4- hr.
Adverse Effects
Eye: Transient irritation. Superinfection. Blurred vision. Ear: Transient irritation. Superinfection.
Risk Factor (Pregnancy/Lactation)
Pregnancy: Risk cannot be ruled out. Lactation: Caution advised or effect undetermined. Contraindications: Perforated ear drum. Precautions: Avoid prolonged use.

Other nephrotoxic or ototoxic drugs.
Advice to Patient
Complete full course of therapy. For Eye: Before use, wash hands properly. Sit or lie down to instill. Open eye, look at ceiling, instill solution into the eye. For ointment, pull lower lid down slowly, instill thin layer of ointment inside lid. Close eye and roll eyeball in all directions. Apply gentle pressure to inner corner of eye. Blurred vision or stinging may occur but its temporary. Contact prescriber if there is constant burning, pain; changes in vision; itching, swelling in eyes or worsening of condition. Avoid touching tip of applicator with eye.
