Indications
Prophylaxis of migraine (in patients who have at least 4 migraine days/month).
Dosage
Adults: INJECTION: SC: Loading dose 240 mg for 1 dose, then maintenance 120 mg once a month, maintenance dosing to start 1 month after loading dose. Review treatment 3 months after initiation. Children: Not recommended.
Administration
Inject into the abdomen, thigh, back of the upper arm, or the gluteal region. Patients may self-administer after appropriate training in SC inj technique. Do not inject into areas where the skin is tender, bruised, red or hard. Prior to adm, allow medication to sit at room temp for 30 mins. Inspect visually for particulate matter and discoloration. Do not use if cloudy or have visible particles. Stability: Store in a refrigerator at 2-8°C and protect from light. Do not warm by using a heat source such as hot water or a microwave. Do not freeze or shake the product. Medication may be stored out of refrigeration in the original carton at temperatures up to 30°C for up to 7 days. Adverse Effects
Vertigo, constipation, pruritus, inj site reactions. Reports of anaphylaxis, angioedema and urticaria; discontinue if occur.
Risk Factor (Pregnancy/Lactation)
Pregnancy: Risk cannot be ruled out. Lactation: Caution advised or effect undetermined. Precautions: Major cardiovascular diseases. Risk of delayed-onset hypersensitivity.
Advice to Patient
Be cautious while driving, operating machinery and doing tasks that require alertness.

Metabolism: Degraded into small peptides and amino acids via catabolic pathways. Half-life elimination: 27 days. Time to peak: 5 days.
