Indications
Intravenous use in T1-weighted magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the liver to detect and characterize lesions in adults with known or suspected focal liver disease.
Dosage
Adults: IV: 0.1 mL/kg body wt. (0.0.25mmol/kg body wt.). Children: Not recommended.
Administration
Administer undiluted as a single intravenous bolus inj at a flow rate of approx. 2 mL/second. Flush the IV cannula with NS after the injection.
Adverse Effects
Headache, dizziness, dysgeusia, parosmia, increased blood pressure, flushing, respiratory disorders, vomiting, nausea, rash, pruritus, feeling hot.
Risk Factor (Pregnancy/Lactation)
Precautions: Severe renal impairment, acute kidney injury. Pregnancy. Lactation.
Interactions
Rifampicin.
Advice to Patient
Contact prescriber if you experience burning, itching, swelling, scaling, hardening and tightening of the skin; red or dark patches on the skin; stiffness in joints with trouble moving, bending or straightening the arms, hands, legs or feet; pain in the hip bones or ribs; or muscle weakness.
