Anti-rheumatic, Systemic · Anthranilic acid derivative

Indications

Articular pain as in rheumatoid and osteoarthritis, rheumatic soft tissue and peri-articular pain, post-operative pain including pain occurring after orthopaedic, ENT and dental surgery, traumatic pain.

Dosage

Adults: Acute pain: 2 tab initially, then 1 tab as required; average dosage: 4 tab per day, in divided doses. Chronic pain: 2 or 3 tab per day, in divided doses. Children: Not recommended.

Adverse Effects

Digestive disorders, nausea, constipation, diarrhoea, urinary burning. Reversible, acute renal failure.

Risk Factor (Pregnancy/Lactation)

Pregnancy: Risk cannot be ruled out. Lactation: Contraindicated or not recommended. Contraindications: Known allergy to floctafenine. Precautions: Cutanea-mucosal or systemic allergy-like reactions which may result in shock are possible.

Advice to Patient

Take with or without meals.

Absorption: Well-absorbed from GI tract. Half-life elimination: 8 hrs. Time to peak, plasma: 1-2 hrs. Excretion: Urine. Faeces.
