Ertugliflozin
Hypoglycaemic excluding Insulin · Sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitors
Indications
Type 2 diabetes mellitus.
Dosage
Adults: 5 mg once daily, taken in the morning. If required, increase dose to 15 mg once daily. Children: Not recommended.
Adverse Effects
Female genital mycotic infections.
Risk Factor (Pregnancy/Lactation)
Pregnancy: Contraindicated in pregnancy. Lactation: Contraindicated or not recommended. Contraindications: Type 1 DM, diabetic ketoacidosis. Severe renal impairment, end-stage renal disease. Dialysis. Precautions: Hypotension, renal impairment, urosepsis and pyelonephritis, lower limb amputation, genital mycotic infections, increased LDL-C.
Interactions
Insulin, insulin secretagogues.
Advice to Patient
Take missed dose as soon as you remember unless it is almost time for the next dose. Conform to dietary instructions, regular physical activity, periodic blood glucose monitoring and HbA1c testing. Inform prescriber if there is fever, trauma, infection or requirement of surgery.

Metabolism: Hepatic. Half-life elimination: 16.6 hrs. Time to peak, plasma: 1 hr. Excretion: Urine (1.5%). Faeces (33.8%).
