Dosage

TABLET: Adults: 10 mg daily. SYRUP: Children: 6-11 yr, 5 mg daily; below 6 yr, not recommended.

Adverse Effects

Weight gain, headache, asthenia, nervousness, gastric intolerance, diarrhoea, constipation.

Risk Factor (Pregnancy/Lactation)

Pregnancy: Contraindicated in pregnancy. Lactation: Contraindicated or not recommended. Contraindications: Diarrhoea. Precautions: Should not be used as an emergency measure in acute allergic pictures.

Absorption: Well absorbed. Metabolism: Hepatic. Half-life elimination: 10-14 hrs. Active metabolite (carebastine): 15-19 hrs. Time to peak, plasma: 10 mg: 2.6-4 hrs.20 mg: 3-6 hrs. Excretion: Urine.
