Indications

Combined active immunization of children up to 2 years of age against diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis.

Dosage

3 IM inj of 0.5 mL at intervals of 4 wk. A fourth inj after 3 to 12 mth, is recommended.

Adverse Effects

Local pain, redness, swelling. Malaise, fatigue, headache, diarrhoea, irritability, loss of appetite, vomiting.

Risk Factor (Pregnancy/Lactation)

Contraindications: Hypersensitivity after previous administration of DPT vaccines. Encephalopathy of unknown aetiology, occurring within 7 days following previous vaccination with pertussis containing vaccine. Transient thrombocytopenia or neurological complications following an earlier immunisation against diphtheria and for tetanus. Precautions: Acute severe febrile illness. Pregnancy, lactation. History of any of the following events on previous vaccination with pertussis containing vaccine: Temp, 40 degree centigrade or more within 48 hour, collapse or shock-like state within 48 hour, persistent, inconsolable crying lasting more than 3 hour occurring within 48 hour, convulsions with or without fever within 3 days.
