Indications

Active immunisation against diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, polio and invasive diseases caused by Haemophilus influenzae type b.

Dosage

Children: Under 2 mth, not recommended. 2 mth to 4 yr, 3 separate injections by deep SC or IM injection at minimum of 4 wk intervals; over 4 yr, not recommended. Adults: Not recommended.

Adverse Effects

Local pain, redness, swelling; restlessness; loss of appetite; collapse, convulsions.

Risk Factor (Pregnancy/Lactation)

Contraindications: Previous encephalopathy after pertussis vaccine; acute severe febrile illness. Precautions: Previous reaction to DTP vaccine; family history of convulsions, SIDS; bleeding disorders; immunosuppression/deficiency; pregnancy, lactation.
