Indications
Active primary immunisation against diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis and hepatitis B in infants above 2 months age.
Dosage
0.5m IM. Primary course: 3 doses at 2, 4 and 6 mth Booster dose, at 18 mth.
Adverse Effects
Local pain, redness, swelling; restlessness; loss of appetite; collapse, convulsions.
Risk Factor (Pregnancy/Lactation)
Contraindications: Previous encephalopathy after pertussis vaccine; acute severe febrile illness. Precautions: Previous reaction to DTP vaccine; family history of convulsions, SIDS; bleeding disorders; immunosuppression/deficiency; pregnancy, lactation.
