Anti-rheumatic, Topical · Phenylacetic acid
Indications
Rheumatic and muscular pain, post-traumatic pain, post-operative inflammation and swelling, acute musculo-skeletal disorders including bursitis, myositis, tendonitis, ligamental injuries. Sports injuries, sprain, strains, low back ache.
Dosage
Adults: Rub gently into affected area 3-4 times daily. Children: Not recommended.
Adverse Effects
Local erythema, pruritus, dermatitis, photosensitivity.
Risk Factor (Pregnancy/Lactation)
Contraindications: Asthma, aspirin/anti-inflammatory induced allergy. Precautions: Avoid broken skin, eyes and mucous membrane. Do not use occlusive dressings.
Pharmacokinetics
Absorption: 6% of the systemic exposure from an oral form of diclofenac sodium. Time to peak, plasma: 10-14 hrs.
