Indications
Inflammation and infection of skin involving fungi.
Dosage
Adults & Children: Apply twice daily.
Advice to Patient
Wash and dry the skin before applying. Apply a thin film to cover affected areas and rub gently. Wash hands thoroughly after applying, unless hands are the area being treated. Discontinue medication atleast after 7 days when inflammation disappears.
Pharmacokinetics
DEXAMETHASONE: Absorption: It ranges from about 1% in areas with a thick stratum corneum (such as the palms, soles, elbows, and knees) to 25% in areas of the thinnest stratum corneum (face, eyelids, and genitals). Inflamed or damaged skin may absorb more than 33%. Absorption increases in areas of skin damage, inflammation, or occlusion. Some systemic absorption occurs, especially through the oral mucosa. Metabolism: Primarily in the skin. The small amount absorbed into systemic circulation is metabolized hepatically. Excretion: Urine (primarily). Faeces (Small amounts of the metabolites). CLOTRIMAZOLE: Absorption: Negligible systemic absorption. Metabolism: Hepatic. Excretion: Urine. Faeces.
