Indications

Moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis in patients who are candidates for systemic therapy or phototherapy.

Dosage

Adults: 6 mg once daily. Children: Not recommended.

Adverse Effects

Upper respiratory infections, increased blood CPK, herpes simplex, mouth ulcers, folliculitis, acne.

Risk Factor (Pregnancy/Lactation)

Pregnancy: Contraindicated in pregnancy. Lactation: Caution advised or effect undetermined. Contraindications: Active or serious infection. Severe hepatic impairment. Precautions: Evaluate for TB prior to initiating treatment.

Interactions

Live vaccines (avoid). Other potent immuno-suppressants.

Advice to Patient

Take with or without meals. Swallow whole tab. Do not crush, break or chew the tab. Report immediately if you experience signs of infection, such as fever, sweats, chills, muscle aches, cough or shortness of breath.
