Erythropoietin Products · Hypoxia-inducible factor prolyl hydroxylase (HIF-PH) inhibitor 

Indications

Treatment of anaemia due to chronic kidney disease who have been receiving dialysis for at least 4 months.

Dosage

Adults: One tab daily. Children: Not recommended.

Adverse Effects

Hypertension, thrombotic vascular events, abdominal pain.

Risk Factor (Pregnancy/Lactation)

Pregnancy: Positive evidence of risk: Use only when no safer alternative exists for a serious problem. Lactation: Contraindicated or not recommended. Contraindications: Uncontrolled hypertension. Severe hepatic impairment. Precautions: History of heart failure. Monitor blood pressure during treatment. Moderate hepatic impairment.

Interactions

Gemfibrozil and other CYP2C8 inhibitors; avoid.

Advice to Patient

Take with or without meals. Swallow whole tab. Do not break, crush or chew.
