Carbocisteine and Promethazine

Expectorant · H1 receptor antagonist/Mucolytic

Indications

Acute and chronic bronchitis, rhinopharyngitis, tracheitis, acute and sub-acute laryngitis, otitis, sinusitis.

Dosage

Adults: 15 mL 3 times a day. Children: Over 5 yr: 5 mL 3 - 6 times per day. Under 5 yr and infants over 1 yr: 5 mL/day/5 kg of body weight. Infants less than 1 yr, Contraindicated.

Adverse Effects

Drowsiness.

Risk Factor (Pregnancy/Lactation)

Contraindications: Active peptic ulcer. Precautions: The intake of alcohol during treatment not recommended.
