Calcium Carbonate and Magnesium Carbonate

Antacid, Antiflatulent · Antacid/Calcium salt

Indications

Symptomatic treatment of all types of excessive gas accumulation or formation in the GIT such as flatulence, meteorism.

Dosage

Adults: 1-2 tab to be chewed 3-4 times daily.

Adverse Effects

Constipation, diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, intestinal obstruction (large dose).

Risk Factor (Pregnancy/Lactation)

Precautions: Renal dysfunction, low phosphate diet, prolonged use.

Interactions

Alters absorption of tetracyclines, INH, Fe salts, warfarin, digoxin, H2 receptor antagonists, chlorpromazine, urine alkalinization may increase plasma quinidine.
