Indications

Bacterial and fungal infections along with inflammatory conditions.

Dosage

Adults & Children: Apply two to three times daily.

Advice to Patient

Apply a thin film to cover affected areas and rub gently. Do not apply for more than prescribed period of time. Contact prescriber if there is no improvement in 3-4 weeks.

Pharmacokinetics

BETAMETHASONE DIPROPIONATE: Absorption: It ranges from about 1% in areas with a thick stratum corneum to as high as 36% in areas with a thin stratum corneum. Absorption increases in areas of skin damage, inflammation, or occlusion. Some systemic absorption of topical steroids occurs. Metabolism: After topical administration, drug is metabolized primarily in skin. The small amount absorbed into systemic circulation is metabolized hepatically. Excretion: Renal (inactive metabolites). Faeces (small amounts of metabolites). GENTAMICIN: Absorption: Readily absorbed from large burnt, denuded or granulating areas but not through intact skin. Faster and greater absorption with the cream compared to the ointment. Metabolism: Not metabolized. Half-life elimination: Adults: 2-3 hrs. Severe renal impairment: 24-60 hrs. Excretion: Urine.
