Indications

Acute inflammatory conditions of respiratory tract, urogenital tract and painful and oedematous conditions such as post- traumatic, post-operative and in dentistry.

Dosage

Adults: 200 mg on the first day, followed by daily dose of 100-150 mg. The daily dose should preferably be given in divided doses. Children: 1-6 yr: 50-100 mg on first day followed by a daily dose of 25-50 mg; 6-15 yr: 50-150 mg on first day followed by a daily dose of 50 mg. The daily dose should preferably be given in divided doses.

Adverse Effects

Nausea or burning sensation in epigastrium, dizziness, visual disturbance, palpitation and slight tachycardia.

Risk Factor (Pregnancy/Lactation)

Pregnancy: Not rated. Lactation: Contraindicated or not recommended. Contraindications: Agitation. Precautions: In microbially induced inflammation, Benzydamine should be combined with specific therapy. Caution should be observed in patients prone to gastric irritation.

Advice to Patient

Take with or without meals. Do not chew, suck lozenges slowly.
